I listened to your Barton piece, very nice. Do play other genres? I'm a big jazz fan! BTW your cover shot is amazing!

Your performance last night at the West Highland Baptist Church concert was stunning ....brought me to tears . Tell me more about the composer and the piece of music.

Thank you. Bonnie! It was a pleasure being there! The composer. Ciprian Porumbescu, is a romanian composer. He studied at the Vienna Musical Conservatory with Anton Bruckner and Franz Krenn. He liked very much to write poetry, lyrics and press articles. He was arrested because of his political ideas of independence... He was released but he died at age 29 of tuberculosis... :( He left more that 250 works behind.. His compositions are inspired by national heroes, great army leaders and folklore. He wrote "The Ballad for Violin" being in seclusion. and the piece is a mixture of.. poetry.. nostalgia, meditation, lights and shades and serene melancholy... :)

Interesting commentary on feeling restrained from being your true self ......reminds me of a famous old melody with the lyrics "....I'm only a bird in a gilded cage, and all I do is cry all day, boo hoo...boo hoo " . As a child , that never made sense to me , but now I think it does .
